Welcome to my Plateau Labradors
Already a dog lover, my dream of owning a kennel began when I was only 13 when an old family friend, Beezor Thomas, took the time to show me what being a true dog trainer is all about. Raised in a family that hunted frequently in the woods of upstate New York, I realized that by combining my two passions I could find my true calling.
I have been residing in Northeastern Colorado with my husband Randy since ??? We have three grown sons - Darrick, Justin, and Sean. They come home and enjoy the dogs and hunting as often as they can. Little did I know when I moved here how perfect this area would be for what I wanted to do.
Plateau Labradors was started in 1995. My goal was to combine proper training and handling techniques, the right bloodlines and lots of love and care to create a line of dogs that are extremely versatile and hopefully a betterment to the Labrador breed. When I look at the dogs I have now, I feel like my plan, so far, has worked and it’s extremely satisfying.
Rising above the high-plains of Eastern Colorado on the Peetz Plateau, we sit in some of the greatest fowl hunting grounds in the entire West. Tucked between the North and South Platte Rivers, I'm just minutes away from excellent duck and goose ground, and am surrounded by premium upland sites. Combine that with over 300 days of sunshine a year and variations in extreme weather and I am in the unique position to be able to train the dogs to excel in nearly any climate or situation they may face.
Now that the boys are grown, I now spend most of my days training and sharing my time with the wonderfully intelligent creatures God has given me. You are welcome to come by any time to see the dogs, meet the family, have a cup of coffee and plan on enoying yourself.
